I have graduated in Geography with specialisation in Regional Planning and Development from Presidency University, Kolkata, India. I have also been an active member in a state government run project ‘Forest Health and Sustenance-case study of Bankura subdivision’. After qualifying National Eligibility Test with Junior Research Fellowship, I have served for 2 years as a lecturer in Vidyasagar College under University of Calcutta. Currently, I am a doctoral student (funded by Power ATUT) in the Faculty of Biology.
One of the tentative steps towards sustaining the environment is river restoration, which assists the recovery of ecological integrity in a watershed system by re-establishing geomorphic, hydrologic and ecological processes. I explore such impact of river restoration on ecosystem services and the contribution of restored rivers to tourism and well-being of local communities.
